Rick Santorum to visit Wartburg College Monday

WAVERLY | Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum will visit the Wartburg College campus in Waverly on Monday.

The town hall event will begin at 3:30 p.m. Monday in Whitehouse Business Center room 214.

The event is free and open to the public, and tickets are not required.

Attendees should park in the visitors lot east of Neumann Auditorium and use the south entrance of Saemann Student Center to reach the event.

The event is hosted by the Wartburg College Republicans, a student organization.

Santorum will make some remarks before answering questions from the audience.

U.S. senator from Pennsylvania, was the 2012 winner of the Iowa caucuses. During that campaign and this one, he visited all of Iowa’s 99 counties.

He completed his 99-county tour this cycle at the beginning of September and has continued to tour the state ahead of the Feb. 1 caucus.

“We are blessed to live in Iowa and to have these opportunities to meet, face-to-face, almost every presidential candidate, usually more than once,” Wes Gade, Bremer County Republicans chairman, said in a statement. “It is also great that Waverly has continually been chosen as a campaign stop by many candidates, like Rick Santorum, who is now making his second stop in Waverly this year.”
