Rep. Eric Cantor's office window had a bullet fly through it
A fury has shattered the peace of Rep as the health care reform has come and gone. Eric Cantor's office will not subside, along with other places on both sides of the political drum. According to CNN, Cantor says that his district office in Richmond, Virginia had a bullet shot “through the window”. He had prior received threatening phone calls that he refuses to reveal in fear that it will inspire copycats to follow through with violent acts against himself or other republicans.

That's what Eric Cantor says DNC chair Tim Kaine and Rep. Chris Van Hollen of Maryland have been doing: using threats made against pro-health care reform Democrats as a rallying cry to somehow strike back. Washington politics catchphrase now is Violence begets violence, and Cantor has said on the record “Enough is enough.” Whether or not people need money now, they shouldn't have to worry about fringe groups keeping their elected officials from representing them accurately.

What is it about the tea party mentality that takes them beyond rational discourse and straight onto the expressway of the lunatic fringe? More than 10 Democrats have been harassed, according to House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer of Maryland. They've been harassed to a point that they feared for their safety, making it important for them to hire more security staff. Various illiterate threats, broken windows, and a cut gas line at Rep. Tom Perriello's brother's home all seem to come down to who wanted the health care reform. The fight is so much worse than anything the pay day loan industry has ever faced.
Sweat and blood
Once, Oscar Wilde wrote that “When liberty comes with hands dabbled in blood, it is hard to shake hands with her.” Most would suggest that a bloody liberty isn't worth it, whether you are fighting with every ounce of your being to stop the supposed socialist agenda or if you are supporting imperfect changed with a possibility of future advances. Others might shake gladly, then wash the blood off of their hands. How do you want your children to turn out as Americans?
